Toyota Teams up with WiTricity
While many were sceptical that wireless charging would not be able to efficiently power an electric car, manufacturers continue to advance the technology.
Over recent months more and more manufacturers have announced that they are investing in wireless charging of electric cars. Many are investing in their own technologies however Toyota, a company at the forefront of electric and hybrid car manufacturing, has partnered with WiTricity.
The Prius is already a market leader in the electric and hybrid car marketplace and with the integration of WiTricity we are likely to see a speedy market integration of wireless car charging systems. Rumours are suggeting that we will see wireless charging systems for electric cars available in the marketplace as soon as 2013.
