WiTricity Hotspot is working to develop a distribution network to deliver wireless electricity seamlessly to electric vehicles and mobile devices.

The technology, currently under development by WiTricity in Watertown, Massachusetts, is capable of delivering a charge wirelessly to electric vehicles, mobile devices and household electronic items through the use of highly coupled magnetic resonance. Our vision is a future where you can charge your electric vehicle and have all your mobile devices seamlessly connect and charge at thousands of Hotspot locations, much like you connect with WiFi today.

In 2010 the global wireless electricity market was worth over $100 million and according to IMS Research we can expect a compounded annual growth of 85.5%. This will take the wireless electricity market value to over $4.5 billion by 2016.

The majority of this forecasted growth is expect to come from the smartphone market. This is where we expect a significant market requirement for Horspot locations where these devices can charge wirelessly. WiTricity Hotspot Ltd will offer Home and Office WiTricity setups and Commercial Hotspot locations to support the growth of the wireless electricity market.
